1992-1997
MAZ - Mikroelektronik Anwendungszentrum Hamburg GmbH (microelectronics application center) was founded by the municipality of the Hanseatic city. It was located close to the Technical University of Harburg, directly in the inland harbor area of Harburg when it was founded 1990. The center acted as an interface between university and industry, developing into the key technology center in the North of Germany. In the course of its economically successful evolution, the MAZ became a "breeding ground" for innovative companies.

October 1997
bbcom Broadband Communications GmbH & Co. KG was founded as a joint venture of Siemens ICN EN (85%) and MAZ Hamburg (15%). The business mandate of bbcom was product development in the field of broadband communications. Products for private high-speed and multimedia networks with stringent security requirements as well as solutions for wide area private networks were the main focus of activities. Solutions like these are applied in information and emergency call systems at railway stations or airports, transport and traffic surveillance systems, and building surveillance systems.

April 2001
bbcom and its 100 employees are taken over by Siemens Program and System Engineering PSE as a 100% subsidiary of Siemens Program and Systemengineering Österreich. PSE Germany, with its headquarters in Hamburg, becomes PSE's first location in Germany. The new stand-alone company is: Siemens Programm- und Systementwicklung GmbH und Co. KG

January 2007
Since January 2007, Siemens Programm- und Systementwicklung GmbH & Co. KG has been a part of the newly established entity Siemens IT Solutions and Services (SIS). As a cross-sector business of the Siemens group supportimg the Energy, Industry and Healthcare sectors, Siemens IT Solutions and Services develops comprehensive and industry-specific IT solutions and integrates them into the customer’s IT infrastructure.

April 2009
The new business units System Development and Engineering, SIS SDE and the Siemens Corporate Technology Development Center, CT DC were founded after the split up of Siemens Program- and System Engineering in Vienna. Our Company maps this business units organizational as well as the business unit Public Sector, PS.

October 2010
Siemens Programm- and Systementwicklung GmbH & Co. KG becomes part of Corporate Technology. We map the Development Center of Corporate Technology, the new founded Communications, Media and Technology as well as Siemens IT Solutions and Services in our company.

January 2011
With the sale of Siemens IT Solutions and Services at Atos our department Siemens IT Solutions and Services was dissolved and transferred to Atos.
